Carved with care and precision from beautiful, velvet smooth, cherry wood. Cherry is hard and very strong, with a tight grain, so that it can be elegantly shaped and yet lightweight.
Hamm's designs are fashioned in the tradition of self-reliant American woodworkers, where all hand tools were made on the farm for the specific user's requirements. Hamm's family has had a relationship with farming and woodworking since colonial times. His handmade tools are a continuation of two and a half centuries of American farming and woodworking.
