Left handed scissors were unheard of when I was growing up, so I've done everything, including sewing and crafts, with the scissors I had. After a recent situation where I needed to remove a bandage from my right arm, I could not get my scissors to cut through the wrap. After needing help to get the job done, I decided it was time to try a left handed pair. I've tried them out on paper, plastic, and fabric, and they have worked! I will now be looking for heavier shears that can cut cardboard.
