The Yoropencil has an interesting history. The inventor, a Taiwanese industrial designer, had twin daughters who were born with Cerebral Palsy. He knew that writing was the key to a higher level of intellectual development for the girls, and researched the ergonomics of writing extensively. The resulting design is named for his daughters - Yoyo and Roro.

My 10 year old grandson is left-handed and has a terrible time with penmanship and I thought it would help.  He liked it once he got used to it.  Wish the pencil refill method was better.  The pencil tip tended to fall off and wasn't very secure and I know a 10 year old isn't going to be very careful in making sure he doesn't lose the tip.

Both of my young kids are left handed and noticed how easily they could actually see what they were writing. The pencils are odd for them to use but with time and practice I think they will come to prefer these over regular pencils.
